Surgical Procedure to Remove Impacted Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth often cause a great deal of discomfort. They can become impacted, which means the tooth comes through the gum at an angle, or they may only emerge partially, which may lead to future problems, such as infection. When this occurs, the most effective solution is extraction.
Depending on the severity of the problem, the dentist may only need to extract a single wisdom tooth or all four. To prevent pain during the procedure, you will be given local or general anesthesia, allowing them to sleep through the operation.
Wisdom teeth extractions are very common. Most patients are back to normal within a few days and experience no side effects or complications.
